Week 4
Riggs: Continuing to learn multiletter phonograms, daily spelling words!

Math:  Continuing discussing days of the week, left/right, identifying numbers on a number chart, counting backwards, counting forwards, recognizing patterns, & writing digital time

Reading: Piggie Pie by Margie Palatini
Ask and answer questions about key details in a text.
Retell stories, including key details, and demonstrate understanding of their central message or lesson.
Describe characters, settings, and major events in a story, using key details.
Explain major differences between books that tell stories and books that give information, drawing on a wide reading of a range of text types.
Use illustrations and details in a story to describe its characters, setting, or events.
Compare and contrast the adventures and experiences of characters in stories.
Know and apply grade-level phonics and word analysis skills in decoding words.

IEW/Writing: Students will continue participating in choral reading of source texts, recognize nouns, and have fun with action words (verbs), write key word outlines. Writing about reading on Writing Wednesday!

Core Knowledge: Mesopotamia
Students will be able to describe the importance of the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers.

Students will be able to explain why laws and rules are important.
